Here’s video clip from a new HBO series called “The Newsroom”. Yes, it’s a fictional drama. Still, the clip is evidence that the public is growing increasingly aware of, and concerned by, our national decline.
The producers would not have included this scene if they didn’t know there was already a significant market segment that’s already aware of, and sympathetic to, the ideas expressed in the clip.
In essence, this video tells us what most of us already know. America is in deep trouble. That’s not news. But insofar as we increasingly see reference to this decline in our mainstream media, it gives us confidence that 1) our ideas and concerns are valid; and 2) we are not alone.
