Here’s video clip from a new HBO series called “The Newsroom”. Yes, it’s a fictional drama. Still, the clip is evidence that the public is growing increasingly aware of, and concerned by, our national decline.
The producers would not have included this scene if they didn’t know there was already a significant market segment that’s already aware of, and sympathetic to, the ideas expressed in the clip.
In essence, this video tells us what most of us already know. America is in deep trouble. That’s not news. But insofar as we increasingly see reference to this decline in our mainstream media, it gives us confidence that 1) our ideas and concerns are valid; and 2) we are not alone.

More people incarcerated, more people that believe angels fly around and more spending on defense to support tyranny of other nations as well as here. Tyranny disguised in the name of safety and justice is tyranny.

America is the greatest country in the world because we have recognized from the beginning that our blessings, especially of liberty, come from God. This is evidenced by the constitutions of the several states, among other things. I don’t mean the federal monster in DC, which of course is nominally secular.
The video takes the typical form of New World Order propaganda on this and related topics: full of assertion with scant logical argument but plenty of cleverer-than-thou self-inflated pose. The obnoxious delivery is typical of the rhetorical effects on which they rely in lieu of reason to persuade the gullible and unguided.

In my lifetime, America has fallen from the richest nation on earth to the world’s biggest debtor. Our education system was once the envy of the world and is now viewed with contempt. Our prison system is the biggest in the world and that’s absolute evidence that we are already living in one of the world’s most advanced police states. Our standard of living has stagnated for over 20 years. By almost every measure, the USA has steadily declined since WWII. Can you name any measure by which America has grown stronger over the past 60 years? The only measure by which we’ve increased is our military power. Other than that, our “empire” has nearly destroyed our nation. The persistence of our decline along almost every front in our society is evidence that our decline is not random or accidental, but the result of an organized conspiracy to destroy this nation. This decline has happened regardless of whether we elect republicans of democrats. This implies that the leadership of both parties have been captured by forces adverse to our national welfare.
And yet, you describe that video clip as evidence of New World Order propaganda? If anything, the New World Order’s propaganda is not to warn Americans of on-going decline, but to tell America that everything is working out just fine.

Yes, we have allowed ourselves to be delivered into bondage by the Democrat-Republicans in whom we have misplaced our trust. But was not Joseph still favored by God, and the favorite son of Jacob, even after he was stripped of his coat of many colors, cast in the pit, and sold into slavery? Material circumstance are not what make a man or a nation great, in God’s opinion. That’s good enough for me, though of course others are free to differ.
As far as the video being New World Order propaganda, I am certain that it is based on long experience with the stereotyped modes of ideological outreach used by the toadies of the evil empire. However, I can’t prove it. So I’ll make my statement to be taken for what it’s worth regarding a standard-issue, slickly produced, Madison Avenue-style pompous browbeating with intent to demoralize and instill a sense of resignation in we, the people, toward the gaping shark’s mouth approaching so we put aside the bang stick. It’s presented as educational only because the New World Order is always looking to serve. After all, they’re only here to help.

Joseph and the Hebrew people may have been favored and may remain favored, but that favoritism has not shielded that nation from national destruction that lasted for over 20 centuries and some measure of genocide at the hands of the Nazis.
If God has favored the USA (and I don’t doubt that He has), do you suppose that favoritism will continue even after we’ve allowed the abortions/murders of 60 million of our own children–children made in God’s image? I won’t belabor the list of ungodly and anti-godly acts committed by our government and our people, but that list seems substantial.
Perhaps the favoritism we once enjoyed will persist despite our actions. I’m sure that God is more forgiving–or at least slower to anger–than I am. But if I were God, I would not let those 60 million abortions pass without invoking judgment. But that’s if I were God. Lucky for all, I am not.
I am reminded of the incident in the Garden of Eden when Satan encouraged to Eve to take a bite of the apple. God had warned that if they ate of that apple, they would die. But Satan said, “Surely you will not die”. If the Bible is true, the belief that Eve was somehow so favored that she would not die even if she violated God’s law turned out to be hugely mistaken.
The idea that we can abort/murder 60 million American babies, but still escape retribution because we are “so favored” strikes me as every bit as false and dangerous as Satan’s advice that “Surely you will not die.”
The idea that we’re so favored that America can get away with 60 million murders strikes me as insane. I may be wrong, but it still seems to me that the wrath of God is not only coming, but justified.

Well, those millions of abortions must indeed weigh heavily against us. However, God did agree to spare Sodom if ten righteous people could be found there. So it does not seem likely to me that America will receive collective punishment for a crime against which a far greater proportion of the population was opposed. Secondly, times have changed:
Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Under this new paradigm of personal salvation, I would expect the earlier principle of collective liability to no longer apply. That said, the same disclaimer you used: I could be wrong. I sure hope not.

I’m not sure if this is a lament, which it seems to be at first, or if it is an esoteric message being sent by those who have done all this dirty work, beating their collective chest in bravado, a kind of disguised victory speech. I will have to watch it again to a bit closer. Just saying my honest first impression.
Also, Deut. 28 comes to mind; did someone else do all these horrible things to us, or are we just reaping and sowing the consequences of disobedience to God’s Law-Word?

Wow When you look at just the bad of the USA it’s bad. Of course, you have to ignore the good if you want it slanted so much. We don’t stone women to death in public. We have a pretty decent military force. We give more charity than some of those greatest other nations. Tsunamis get our attention & we help out. Our election process may still be a pretty accurate count.

The USA was never the greatest country in the world anymore than a mountain or ocean can be the greatest in the world. Life is change, and as soon as you give it a name like “greatest” it slips though your fingers into the bath of rain which erodes it. Only the People of America can hope to one day be remembered as the best people of a millenium for their hearts, souls, integrity, ingenuity and foremost, their love. As long as they allow their stolen government to continue senseless killing and fiduciary abuse control and misery around the world, their legacy will continue to fade into another sad story of an abusive Roman Empire of fat and drunk citizen-enablers of an out-of-control fascist order of meglomaniacs. God save America. My People, please learn what has been going on since 1871 and move back into the house of your 48 republics and stop Washington DC, the Euro Crowns and the Federal Reserve’s Private International Owners’ Coup d’état of our homelands and homes. Do I owe my allegiance to America or to God? I am a son of God. My allegiance is to Him.
A government is nothing more than a contractual agreement from the joint consent of the governed. The contract is broken. It was said that only a moral people could keep America great. That has ended. I encourage all of God’s people to draw near to Him. He will punish the people of a government(s), who draw away from Him.
Ask yourself:
Will we receive salvation through our country or God? Do we hold on to the ole beliefs of our country that do not exist? Do we do like Jesus and wipe our feet of the non-believers? Is the belief in America a test placed upon us, by God?
I do pray for the contract breakers, but I do not participate anymore with the contract nor am I part of it. I do not consent!
Do you remember this part of our Declaration of Independence:
“When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them,”.
