Poll: 29% of Registered Voters Believe Armed Revolution Might Be Necessary in Next Few Years

For those of you who think you’re virtually alone in your anti-government sentiments . . . for those of you who think that those of us who want a restoration of liberty are only a tiny minority . . . there’s a recent poll indicating that 29% of the American people believe that a shooting revolution may be required to protect our liberties from our own government.

29% translates into about 90 million Americans who already believe that government has gone too far–and plans to go further–down the road into a police state and overt tyranny.

Thus, 29% of Americans are aware of, or at least sympathetic to, the idea expressed in the Declaration of Independence that “. . . when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

29%.

We are not alone.  The ideas, attitudes and concerns shared on this blog and hundreds more like it are not only proliferating but are far more common than most people imagine.  We are not the “lunatic fringe”.  We are mainstream and growing stronger.

We are winning.

Good Americans Distrust Government—And they are the Majority

English: * Title = Gilbert Stuart's Portrait o...

“Government, like fire, is a dangerous servant or a fearful master.” George Washington (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I postulate that being a good American means living in harmony with the spirit of The Constitution of the United States.  If that’s true, should we ever trust government?

Absolutely not.

The reason we have three, separate and independent branches of government (Legislative, Executive and Judicial) is to keep those governmental branches fighting among themselves and thereby prevent the emergence of a single, dictatorial government that worked for its own interests rather than those of the people.  The mandate for three branches of government (separation of powers) is evidence that the Founders didn’t trust the federal government.

The reason we have “checks and balances” in the Constitution is to protect the people from the federal government.  The Founders didn’t trust the feds.

The reason we have the 1st Amendment right to free speech is to allow us to expose government corruption.

According to the “Preamble to the Bill of Rights,” the reason we have the entire Bill of Rights (including the 2nd Amendment) is to prevent “misconstruction or abuse” of the powers granted under the Constitution to the officers, officials and employees of the federal government.

Insofar as the Constitution was intended to allow for only a “limited” government, that Constitution was intended to protect against government’s inevitable and insatiable appetite for more power, more taxes and less freedom.  The Founders didn’t trust the federal government.

The Tyranny-Liberty Cycle of Government

Liberty-Tyranny Cycle of Government

Liberty-Tyranny Cycle of Government

Cycles like this one have been recognized for centuries.  Such “cycles” aren’t necessarily true, but they can all be useful in terms or recognizing predominant social attitudes or inclinations at a particular time.

Some people believe this particular cycle normally takes about 200 years to complete. If so, the USA may have exceeded expectations in that this nation is already 237 years old without having yet reached the second “Revolution” and second episode of “Liberty”

(fictional) Excerpts from Obama’s Victory Speech

Republican Elephant - 3D Icon

“. . . and . . .  in addition to thanking all the Muslims, welfare recipients, ACORN members, government employees and assorted non-productive miscreants who made last night’s victory possible . . . I want to offer my special thanks to the Republican Party elitists who, . . . by dint of sheer determination, ego and corruption . . . ensured that the Grand Ol’ Party did not nominate the people’s choice . . . Ron Paul . . . (who would probably have kicked my ass and offered a glimmer of hope for America) . . . but instead nominated Mitt Romney . . . the one clown in the entire Republican circus  who could be beaten by a black, illegal alien, Muslim communist with a record that makes Nixon look like a choir boy.

“So let’s hear it for the Republican elitists.  I couldn’t have been reelected without their support!”

Going Too Far

afghanistan

GOING TOO FAR afghanistan (Photo credit: The U.S. Army)

Last December, the US gov-co enacted the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).  This act ignited much controversy by allowing the indefinite detention of American citizens without judicial process.

Less appreciated was the NDAA’s proviso for imposing economic sanctions on Iran and its trading partners.  These sanctions include the power to prevent Iran’s trading partners from accessing US financial institutions.

The gov-co presumed that the world would be so terrified by the thought of being unable to trade with the US, that the world would abandon Iran.  However, some nations need Iranian oil more than US dollars and are therefore beginning to buy crude oil from Iran without fiat dollars and even pay with gold.

Some believe that when the NDAA becomes effective (June 28th), China (the world’s second largest economy) will begin paying for Iranian crude oil with gold.

The economic implications are enormous.  The political implications are greater.  I suspect that the NDAA is evidence that the almighty forces of American empire have finally gone too far.

ObamaCare Creates $17 TRILLION in Unfunded Liabilities

Barack Obama signing the Patient Protection an...

Barack Obama signing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act at the White House Español: Barack Obama firmando la Ley de Protección al Paciente y Cuidado de Salud Asequible en la Casa Blanca (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

President Obama supported his health care bill with claims that ObamaCare would only cost about $800 billion over the first 10 years and wouldn’t add anything to the national debt.

Here, we see a video of U.S. Senator Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III of the Senate Budget Committee explaining that, in fact, ObamaCare will add $17 trillion to the national debt.   (4 minutes; http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ZoFsaVkL6HM)

The gov-co currently claims that the national debt is about $15 trillion.  Assuming that Senator Sesssions’ claim that ObamaCare will add $17 trillion to the national debt is true, it appears that ObamaCare will more than double the national debt.  We might reasonably wonder How th’ hell could the Obama administration be so stupid as to think they could enact a program that would more than double the national debt?  Any fool should be able to see that it’s virtually impossible to pass any program (even for national defense) that would double the current national debt.

I am therefore left to wonder:

1.  Will ObamaCare truly increase the national debt by $17 trillion?    Y ___  N ___

2.  Is the Obama administration populated by a bunch of idiots?    Y ___  N ___

3.  Is the national debt actually much larger than is reported by the gov-co?    Y ___  N ___

Ex-CIA Agent Warns of Tyranny, Praises Bloggers

Seal of the C.I.A. - Central Intelligence Agen...

Image via Wikipedia

Remarkable video.  This ex-CIA agent is saying pretty much the same thing the “patriot” community has been saying for 20 years.

The difference is that “patriots” have had little credibility, while people with this speaker’s credentials have credibility.  The ideas behind freedom and liberty start at the bottom of society among the “great unwashed” and malcontents and slowly percolate upward to finally be accepted by folks who make a lot of money, join country clubs and hold positions of power.  I see this video as evidence of the “trickle up” theory that applies to great ideas.

(Note the bottom banner on the CIA “seal” [right].  The CIA is part of “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”–not the confederation and perpetual Union expressly established and styled “The United States of America” by our Articles of Confederation in A.D. 1781.)

Congressman Proposes Regaining Sovereignty over the Banks

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) is pushing a new bill in Congress which is called the “NEED” Act.  The fundamental objective is to regain sovereignty over the banking system.

Congressman Kucinich’s explanation of the constitutional violations associated with the banking system aren’t news to most people reading blogs like this one.  But the fact that a Congressman is talking about those violations gives them a validity that private observers can’t easily provide.  More, the fact that any Congressman is making a serious attempt reduce of eliminate those violations is evidence that regaining control over the banking system may be an “idea whose time has [just about] come”.

Will the U.S. Support Israel or Fiat Dollars?

Israeli and Palestinian Flags

Image via Wikipedia

Two days from now, (September 20th), Palestine is expected to ask the UN Security Council to recognize it as a legitimate “state”.  If such recognition is granted, it will mark a significant political defeat for Israel.  The only obstacle to Palestinian recognition by the UN, is a veto by the United States.

If the US vetoes the Palestinian request for recognition, it will delight Israel, but infuriate the Muslim world.  That’s not news.  US support for Israel has infuriated Muslims for over half a century.

But this time, there may be a new consideration:  If the US gov-co vetoes the Palestinian request for recognition as a nation-state, the resultant Muslim fury could cause a serious decline (or even collapse) in the value of the fiat dollar.

If so, the gov-co’s decision on whether to veto Palestinian statehood is a mutually-exclusive choice between: 1) supporting Israel; and 2) supporting the fiat dollar.

We can’t do both.  If we support Israel, the value of the fiat dollar may be hugely diminished.  If we support the fiat dollar, the security of Israel may be hugely diminished.

If gov-co is forced to choose between supporting Israel and supporting the fiat dollar, what choice will it make?

Here’s a very good audio file that illustrates our gov-co’s precarious position and the growing power of the internet and bloggers to restore constitutional government that serves the people rather than the oligarchy.
