Mike Gravel (Democrat) was a Senator from Alaska from A.D. 1969 through A.D. 1981.  He masterminded the creation of the Alaskan oil pipeline.

I’m surprised by his candor in the following video.  At one point, he says, “The US is like a drunkard who charges to war with anyone who might pose a threat.”  I wouldn’t think any politician would be willing to say so much truth.  But he’s been out of office for 30 years and may never have been as corrupt as the treasonous whores who currently populate Washington DC.

Whatever the explanation, Mr. Gravel makes a strong indictment of the U.S. government and its policies. He makes a lot of sense and clearly describes fundamental problems..

Mr. Gravel is correct. When you have a government that is completely immoral, then there is going to be a big problem. I was just looking at Drudge Report and now there’s another major international incident where NATO bombed some place in Pakistan and killed 20+ Pakistani soldiers. Now, the Pakistani government is cutting off supply lines into Pakistan. The Pakistani government is pissed.

I remember all of the hullabaloo when George H.W. Bush wanted to invade Kuwait. I knew he was going to open up a can of worms by invading an Arab country. Now, the whole area is completely unstable and millions of people have lost their lives in that region. A country or group of countries cannot go around and start killing people for political purposes. Our military should only be for our defenses here, and not for “nation building”. Killing under these circumstances is murder and genocide. And, it violates God’s commandments.

My thinking is that democracy insures that the most vile and corrupted idiots will rise to political power, because of the idiots who vote for them. It is much easier to be an idiot, than to take the time to learn about an issue and be able to discuss it intelligently.

And when I look at the current field of presidential candidates, I’m thinking: we’re screwed.
