“Assault Rifle” Deaths in A.D. 2011

22 Jan

A modern, military assault rifle is a weapon capable of being fired single-shot, in bursts of three, and finally full-automatic. In essence, a true “assault rifle” must be capable of firing more than one round for each pull of the trigger.

As such, the fearsome “assault rifles” held by millions of Americans across the country are actually just semi-automatic rifles that resemble true assault rifles only in calibers and magazine sizes.  Other than that, any further resemblance between domestic “assault rifles” resemble true military assault rifles is purely cosmetic.

In the final analysis, it doesn’t make much difference how dangerous a particular weapon looks.  How dangerous is the man holding that weapon?  Some men are far more dangerous holding a knife (or even a 1″ scalpel) than other men holding an AR-15.

Here’s evidence that, compared to an “assault rifle,” you’re twice as likely to be killed by a carving knife, and perhaps 100 times (or more) as likely to be killed by a doctor’s scalpel.

When you look at the numbers, it’s obvious that the current push for gun control is motivated by some “special interest” rather than the deaths of 20 children at the Sandy Hook Elementary School.  They want gun control–especially for the non-existent “assault rifles”–but not for the sake of protecting children or you or me.  There simply aren’t enough deaths by guns to justify gun-control.  The Powers That Be want gun control to protect themselves and a government that’s become an overt criminal enterprise.

Don’t give up your guns.

And with 1.3 million abortions a year, a child is 4025% more likely to be killed by its own parents than an ‘assault rifle’

Is it possible that this gun control legislation is actually a clever reverse psychology technique to get the public to hoard MORE guns so that the people are MORE weaponized?

Gun control legislation and talks usually prompts people to buy more guns. And if the media reports are accurate, that is exactly what has happened over the last 2 weeks!

Obama did mention at beginning of term 1 that he was interested in a civilian military. Could it be that the government wants people to have more guns in the event it gets invaded by the Chinese, or whatever other group wants to kill americans? The government would not have a military large enough to defeat the Chinese. But if 50% of American civilians were hoarding ammo and guns, we would actually stand a chance to defeat a force as large as the Chinese.

@Duh Me: I think you’re half on here. By starting this gun control charade again the president inadvertently drove millions of semi’s and tens of millions of rounds on to the “street” in the hands of the civilian population. If this was not his desired intention, he would have seized immediate control of firearm transactions under executive order until the Sandy Hook issue had been resolved.

Following this is what I believe this administration wants: a civilian state of anarchy after the financial collapse wherein the government pulls back for a time and lets chaos run wild while millions of guns are fired ammo is expended. After a while, the government comes out of the shadows with fresh resources to mop up what is left playing god and deliverer to the survivors and forcing the police state and ultimate gun confiscation with all the excuses they now need.

Great points to ponder – you all.

As I have said before, it is time to befriend your local Sheriff and police Chiefs, so as to start the education process that these officers need to know. We must attempt to get them and their officers on our side.

“[I]f the citizens neglect their duty
and place unprincipled men in office,
the government will soon be corrupted. …

If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness,
it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine commands,
and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.”

Drugs properly prescribed and administered cause over 100,000 deaths per year in the United States.

So you are 300 times more likely to die from taking prescription drugs, as directed by your doctor, than by a semi-auto rifle. And you are 8 times more likely to die from taking prescription drugs, as directed by your doctor, than being killed by a drunk driver.

The over 1,000,000 abortions each year can also be listed in the “death by doctor” column.

I’m done getting angry at the lack of logic coming from the left. It’s really all about emotional conditioning. Think about it. If it were Bush and Cheney that were on the bandwagon to confiscate semi-autos, you’d see most liberals championing the AR-15’s cause. Imagine a rant from Rachel Mudcow from MSNBC about how AR15’s are no more dangerous than bolt action rifles and you’d have every progressive sheeple among them bowing down to her argument.

This isn’t about right or wrong, reason against the absurd, or even the safety of children. This is about party line mentality and stupid people giving up their freedom of thought to their handlers in the media. You see it with sports officiating, religious pastoring, and political dialogue. The sheep argue against rational thought all the time because their “side” told them to.

Of course this occurs on both sides of the political party coin with the dems on one side and the pubs on the other.
