Background Checks for Pressure-Cooker Bombers

01 May

This video is somewhat funny and somewhat scary.  I’m reminded of a remark attributed to Winston Churchill.  It ran something like this, “The strongest argument against democracy is a five-minute talk with the average voter.”

There are people out there–lots of ’em–who are either too ignorant or too weak to be trusted with the vote.

Yep, that’s the discomforting part. Sometimes, you hate to admit it, but you are tempted to admit that there might be some foundation for Henry Kissinger’s remark about “useless eaters”. I don’t to think that way. I reject thinking that way. But just the same, sometimes, the temptation to think that way is palpable.

“There are people out there–lots of ’em–who are either too ignorant or too weak to be trusted with the vote.”

As ignorant and weak as the electorate can be, I would still rather live in a society that demands at least the plausible appearance of representative government than a society that allows the Money Power or similar to impose itself unchecked.

Americans were ‘disenfranchised’ before the Missouri Compromise of 1850 . . .

    kinda a bread crumb trail/matzo ball thingy…

Eustace remarked once…that it took them 20 years to pull off the So-called “Civil War”…

maybe “we” could redefine “IS” . . .

I’m still perplexed how the Toe of Ra got in there . .

Really Al…You’re FAR TOO LENIENT! We MUST BAN “pressure Cookers” them selves, as well as electrical wiring! They are DEADLY companions…why, just LOOK at how many people have DIED due to faulty wiring!!! And, WE (who cook), KNOW FULL WELL just how EASILY pressure cookers can explode & kill!!! Yes! Don’t bother with those silly bombers…take away their tools!!! DISARM them!!! THEN they’ll HAVE to like our Country, and obey our laws, and convert to our Faiths!!! {;->

Just a bit of clarification — Anon4fun…Al’s mention of Churchill’s quote emphasizes “DEMOCRACY”…which has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING whatsoever to do with our Nation’s form of a Representative Republic. Alexander the Great just LOVED Democracy, it enabled him to defeat the stupid Greek “Nation State cities”, one at a time, and thus, ultimately, defeat the Greek Nation, as a whole, and become it’s dictator…That’s why Churchill made that statement. Democracy encourages division. The “NATURE OF MAN” is selfishness, (at it’s CORE). Therefore when individual’s are allowed to have too much influence of the core of Governing, divisions arise, (it’s now called “polarization” rising). EXACTLY what this present Admin is supporting, encouraging, and even funding! With the TWO Houses [1st Branch] of our Govt. divided, then, the 2nd branch becomes, (through Executive Orders) much more influentially powerful..this is WHY the framers ALSO established the 3rd Branch, [Supreme Court], and encouraged the 4th Pillar of National Influence, the Media. BUT! What has begun to take hold, is the power of the “5th Column”, [the subversive influencers], that are establishing a Democratic Authority in PLACE of the first two Branches. And, As Jesus sagely warned:”A house divided cannot stand”! Democracy is self-destructive, because it is based upon SELF, rather than the “what is best for all”

Here is George Washington’s own formula for successful Governance:

“I now make it my earnest prayer, that God would have you, and the State over which you preside, in his holy protection, that he would incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government, to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another, for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly, for their brethren who have served in the Field, and finally, that he would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all, to do Justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility and pacific temper of mind, which were the Characteristicks of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without an humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy Nation.”

–George Washington, circular letter of farewell to the Army, 1783.

Please note that he maintained that “…without an humble imitation (of the characteristics of the Divine Author) of whose example in these things, we can NEVER HOPE to be a happy Nation”…Thus, (since the last election made it CLEAR that the MAJORITY of VOTING public did NOT agree with George)…, we are RAPIDLY becoming a SAD Nation.

I keep hearing, “We need more people to vote to overcome what Washington does.” WHAT!!!

We need to remove all of the “conflict of interest” voters (voters whose livilyhood is from a govt. check) to return to a Republic. That is the only standard for a voter background check that I want. But, I don’t see that in the future!

We need to remove all of the “conflict of interest” ….
Iron skillet frying pans should be banned too. If I ever marry again, I won’t have to be concerned, again, about getting hit in the head with one from U no who. I think all dangerous weapons should be banned,e.g. spoons, forks, steak knives, etc. I could “live” with having plastic utensils, but nothing made of metal. The plastic products,in my opinion, are not AS dangerous & deadly as the metal ones.

P.S. “Ironic, ain’t it Anon4fun? I see you appreciate irony, & have the depth of perception to recognize it for what it is & means, while “others” perceive it to be a “smart-ass” remark,e.g. “let us” when used in the Holy Bible means, let ME, Let me make man in MY image. It almost sounds as if the ONE who is saying that is asking another for permission to allow same,e.g., will you let me do this,or will you allow me to do that? But we need to know how to rightly divide the word(s). This does take some effort on our part. I will send myself to redeem mankind. Let us said so.but we know who the us-es IS, not are, but IS.
