Willful Blindness, Willful Deafness, Willful Muteness

See no Evil; Hear no Evil; SPEAK no Evil!

See no Evil; Hear no Evil; SPEAK no Evil!

Perhaps one of the Declaration of Independence’s most profound observations is that, “all experience hath shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.”

No doubt true, and yet, how extraordinary.  Most people would rather suffer problems, pains and injustice than take action to “right themselves”.

And what is the first action that must be taken to resolve our “evils”?  We must first speak out to publicly expose those problems.

But what is most people’s greatest fear?  Public speaking.

Could it be that our fear of public speaking predisposes us to “suffer, while evils are sufferable” rather than speak out to expose the problem and begin the remedy?  Does our fear of public speaking ultimately explain our willingness to watch psychopaths rise to positions of wealth and power–and assent to that rise with our silence?  Does our fear of simply speaking out explain why we know that our government and nation are being destroyed by treason, and yet everyone seems more willing to “suffer” those losses than to take action?

Anyone who believe that America is on the wrong path, who’s tried to understand the causes for our problems, and then tried to communicate their growing understanding to others will relate to the following video on “willful blindness”.

I guarantee that over the past 30 years, I’ve encountered a mysterious resistance to many of my ideas.  I’ve tended to understand that resistance as evidence of 1) my own poor skills as a communicator; and 2) an intractable ignorance in most people that renders them incapable of understanding the ideas I try to communicate.

But now, I’m beginning to understand that the problem is not my “failure to communicate” or the public’s inability to comprehend.  I’m communicating well enough.  And most of the public already understands my warnings.  But even so, most people choose to “play dumb” and go about their business as if they had no knowledge of the problem–when, in fact, they understand very clearly.

According to the video below, when there’s a serious “problem,” 85% of people typically understand the problem’s existence, but won’t say anything about it.  In the midst of that collective silence, each of us thinks that we’re the only one who understands.  That sense of isolation–though false–predisposes us to remain silent.  And so, we only speak out against evils only when the evils finally become “insufferable”.

Thus, as a species, we have a tendency to remain “willfully blind” (or willfully deaf or even willfully mute). We know what’s wrong, but we prefer to “play dumb”.  Some of us justify our silence by claiming to fear to say what we’ve seen since we might be ridiculed by others. Others justify their silence by claiming to to be so pessimistic that we don’t believe positive change is possible. But knowing that a significant problem of any sort exists, 85% of us would rather “suffer” in silence than risk openly admitting that the problem exists.  And it’s not because we fear being ridiculed or ineffective–it’s because we are natural cowards when it comes to speaking out in public.

How bizarre.

There are a couple of important implications in this phenomenon.

First, if you see an “evil,” you may think that you’re all alone in that knowledge. You may claim to be afraid to speak out because you’ll be ridiculed as some sort of nut. But, odds are, most of your neighbors also know about the same problem–but also prefer to remain silent.

Point:  You are not alone in your knowledge. The challenge is not to “get the word out” or “educate” our neighbors. Most of them already know about the problem. The challenge is to get your neighbors to openly admit and talk about the knowledge they already have and then act on it.

Second, if it’s true that 85% of usually know about our various “problems” but choose to remain silent, we really do have a “silent majority” who–if they’re properly motivated–have the potential power to jump up at any time to cause dramatic, even revolutionary changes in their society.

In the end, we will not be enslaved because we’re overpowered.  We’ll be enslaved because we refuse to publicly object by simply speaking out.  If we are enslaved, we’ll be enslaved because we choose to remain silent.

What an extraordinary tragedy.  A nation as blessed and spectacular as The United States of America may be lost simply because the people are too cowardly to speak out.  This loss won’t take place because the people lack the courage to fight, shoot, bomb or kill. This loss, if there is such loss, will happen because the people are too cowardly to simply speak out.

•  I might be mistaken, but if I recall correctly, there may be several verses in the Bible that encourage God’s people to speak out, and “speak boldly” against evil and injustice and on God’s behalf.  I begin to see why God would want his people to “speak boldly”:  doing so would be the antidote for most people who choose to silently “suffer evils” rather than speak out to right themselves.  What single characteristic marked God’s prophets more than their willingness to “speak boldly”?  Could if follow that those susceptible to damnation are often characterized by a fear speaking out (“speaking boldly”)?

Here’s the 00:14:29 video on “Willful Blindness”–but perhaps the proper subject matter is “Willful Deafness” or even more properly, “Willful Muteness“–a refusal to speak out when there is a need and even a duty to do so.

The average person’s failure to say anything about the problems facing America is a symptom of a more general syndrome: their failure to do anything about these problems.

This failure to take action is the product of many years of social conditioning by the various propaganda instruments of the NWO.

The bad guys neutralize most of their adversary, the American body politic, at an early age through the “full spectrum dominance” of their gutter-culture infotainment media.

Those who escape this main bombardment, and are therefore somewhat aware of their nation’s condition of siege, can usually be persuaded to watch the destruction from the sidelines through a relentlessly hammered message of hopelessness, and a manufactured culture of hand-wringing passivity to go with it, concerning America’s future.

I carry several business cards with me that authorizes me (as accommodation party for the principle) to 1) smile and be generally agreeable and 2) humor insane People. They are intended to be used when anyone wrapped in color of authority attempts to impose conversation upon me and to provide notice to them and to remind me that I myself have limits. If a conversation takes a serious bent or a misinterpretation is in the wind then I can always make the claim that I was just making small talk to keep the insane from going ballistic.

So how many people avoid confrontation at all costs? I expect quite a few. And these are the instructions written in no uncertain terms in the Law book

    Matthew 5:25
Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.

As the scriptures tell us, avoiding confrontation is the best way.

But sometimes you’re going to get a confrontation regardless of what you do, because your nation’s adversary insists upon it.

In such cases, it’s better to cause an outcome favorable to the interests of your nation rather than the interests of your nation’s adversary.

If America were to be a religious society, why don’t all these oxymorons judeo-christians unite
together as one and crush this Globalist MAFIA,free themselves and create a new society?
A new society must be free of religious dogma and be based on science and technology.
Morality is based on mathematics and not on illusion of faith.

    RELIGION=COMMUNISM=ZIONISM=DOGMA=SLAVERY

Not exactly. The United States of America started on a profoundly spiritual premise: that all men received their best, unalienable Rights from God–and a corresponding secular principle: that the primary duty of government was to secure those God-given, unalienable Rights. Based on the premise that we received our unalienable Rights from God, we became entitled to a level of Liberty (a “blessing”) previously unknown in the world.

That spiritual foundation gave us Liberty.

Since then, our nation has forgotten our spiritual foundation and, in the name of science (including the presumption that we are all “animals” rather than men made in God’s image and endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable Rights) we are now caught in the midst of a police state where “liberty” is largely unknown and has instead been supplanted with “license”.

You did not say anything new,you just confirmed what I have said.
GOD is the root of DOGMA.
Our rights come from this Earth,They are embeded in our living bodies.
Study the history of the past,is very bloody of the religious DOGMA.
Man was borne free,he must struggle to be free.
    Religion brought slavery to humanity.

The Great Day of the Lord

For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

Let us not forget the ever-popular Willful Ignorance.

To understand what we suffer from today and man’s nature as the cause, I would suggest that everyone read the works and quotes of Alexander de Tocqueville.

According to de Tocqueville, the American people are great because of their spiritual nature…

“[T]he state of the Union comes down to the character of the people… Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power.”

But, he further warns, “It is natural that they should hasten to invoke the assistance of religion, for they must know that liberty cannot be established without morality, nor morality without faith; but they have seen religion in the ranks of their adversaries, and they inquire no further; some of them attack it openly, and the remainder are afraid to defend it.”

So, what happened to start our downfall? According to de Tocqueville, it was our miss-understanding of “equality.” He said, “Americans are enamored (have great love) of equality, they would rather be equal in slavery then unequal in freedom.”

This belief in equality leads men to end inequality due to a man’s desired coveting; de Tocqueville said, “A man’s admiration for absolute government is proportionate to the contempt he feels for those around him.”

Thus, government starts to get its grasp upon the people. But, not by force, but rather, by a slow process as described by de Tocqueville….

“It (government) covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniformed, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to raise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but soften, bent and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting; such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrialist animals, of which the government is the shepherd.”

He further describes how tyranny looks and works.

“Tyrannical power is absolute, minute, regular, provident and mild. It would be like the authority of a parent, like that authority, its object was to prepare men for manhood; but it seeks, on the contrary, to keep them in perpetual childhood; it is well content that the people should rejoice, provided they think nothing but rejoicing. For their happiness such a government willingly labors, but it choose to be the sole agent and the only arbiter of that happiness; it provides for the security, foresees and supplies their necessities, facilitates their pleasures, manages their principal concerns, directs their industries, regulates their descent property, and subdivides their inheritances: what remains, but to spare them all the care of thinking and all the trouble of living?”

This equality has two directions. Alexander de Tocqueville gives us this warning when he said…

“Democracy and socialism has nothing in common but one word: equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in freedom, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude.”

Aren’t we just like our ancestors, the Israelites?! And is this silence the same as those who were described in scriptures as willfully ignorant? Probably not, but it must be a close cousin of the syndrome, no?!
Brother Anthony Clifton, I love that biblestudy site! The author was on the northwest side of chicago, by the time I found him, he was moving to arkansas or missouri and I never had the pleasure of meeting him. I had hope to go there for some Bible study.
