Colin Furze is England’s answer to Professor Fate.
Who’s Colin Furze? You’ll see in a minute.
Who’s Professor Fate?
Some of you may remember The Great Race–an A.D. 1965 slapstick comedy starring Tony Curtis (“the Great Leslie”), Natalie Wood (Maggie DuBois), Peter Falk (Max) and Jack Lemmon (Professor Fate).
I saw the movie when it first came out, and I laughed throughout. I thought it was the funniest film I’d ever seen.
Jack Lemon stole the show as the evil genius and arch-villain “Professor Fate”.
“Fate the Magnificent” was constantly inventing submarines, torpedoes, flying machines and a super-car to defeat the “hero” played by Tony Curtis.
If you’ve never seen, or don’t recall, The Great Race, here’s a short clip of Professor Fate celebrating his latest invention–the Hannibal Twin-8 motor car:
I’m reminded of Professor Fate’s bizarre inventions and mad laugh by Colin Furze–a young Englishman with a penchant for inventing rockets, flame throwers, jet-powered bicycles and the kind of devices most young boys dream of, but never actually build. Colin is the young man every boy wants to be and the boy that every mother prays not to bear.
Here are a few of Colin Furze’s videos. They have nothing to do with law, economics or politics. But if you were ever a boy who wanted a chemistry set so you could build rockets and bombs, you’ll appreciate the mad-genius, crazy laughter and unbridled creativity of Colin Furze. He’s at that awkward age where he has enough brains and ability to be dangerous and absolutely no concept of his own mortality. He is Peter Pan with a machine shop.

Isn’t youth great?
