This is Not a Recruiting Video for the Muslim Faith

01 Jan

Israeli forces reportedly shot and killed a suicide bomber.  Palestinians protested, picked up the body of of the dead suicide bomber and started parading it through the streets as a martyr.  If the video is true, the Palestinians didn’t think to remove the suicide bomber’s bomb.  If so, the Palestinians probably didn’t even know that the dead man was a suicide bomber and assumed he was merely another innocent victim of Israeli violence.

You can guess what happened next.  But I doubt that you can guess how horrific the results were.  This is not a video for the squeamish or for children.

I’m not posting this video because it’s gory.  I’m posting it because of it’s potential spiritual significance.  In the same sense that some Muslims may view the deaths of 200 Christians as proof that “God favors Muslims,” this video may be hard to view without concluding that God does not favor Muslims (or at least not suicide bombers).  Both opinions may be false.  God may be simply withholding His judgment for the crimes we commit against each other–at least, for now.

Perhaps this video records only another random act of violence in a violent land.  Perhaps God played no direct part in actively causing or even actively allowing the event to take place.  But even if that were true, the video can’t be construed as evidence that the one and true God of the Bible favors Muslims.  There’s an enormous irony in this video (Muslims parading the body of a martyr are killed or maimed by that same body) that makes it hard to believe that the events recorded took place outside of God’s control.

The video includes pathos as at least one hysterical Palestinian repeatedly screams”Allahu Akbar”.  You can’t ignore his sense of shock and disbelief.  But more, you can almost feel his faith flowing, blood-like, from his body.

From a Muslim perspective, this video must be hard to bear, hard to understand, hard to view as evidence that their faith is valid.  This video would seem to be either: 1) a profound test of the Muslim faith; 2) evidence that the Muslim faith is false; or 3) at least evidence that God is not pleased by the tactic of suicide bombing.

This video records an event that’s violent, stupid and unnecessary.  It leaves you with a strong sense that spiritual warfare may be being waged . . . and not just by mankind.

At about 1:23 in the video it looks like the body they were carrying is still intact. If that’s the case, then the bomb that detonated couldn’t have been still attached to the body.

Perhaps it is evidence of God using the wicked to use up the wicked.

This video was sent to me a while back.

Please, PLEASE, *PLEASE* get a video editor and run this *FAKED VIDEO* thru the editor. Your credibility is at stake.

The “explosion” was all screened out, AND, both the body and the litter were completely INTACT after the alleged “explosion” of the body.

Run the editor frame by frame from 1:22.9 to 1:24.4.

I saw what appeared to be an intact body wrapped in white sheet before I posted the video. I wondered if the video might be another hoax. But I regarded the body wrapped in a sheet as evidence that a real bomb had gone off–maybe strapped to the dead body, maybe not.

From my perspective, if this video was a hoax prepared by some Israeli defense agency, I’d have to assume that the Israelis are slick enough to have seen and deleted the body in the white shroud. The fact that a white-shrouded body remains is strange, but not necessarily evidence that the video is a hoax.

I don’t know what the Muslims’ burial rituals are. It’s not inconceivable that the “parade” included one “martyr” on the “stretcher” but also one or more additional “martyrs” who were being carried closer to the ground. Perhaps one body was carried on the stretcher that was lifted high overhead, while another dead body was being carried on a stretcher low to the ground and unseen in the crowd of people on the street during the “parade”.

The fact that we saw an intact “white-shrouded body” after the bomb exploded, is not proof that this was the same body seen carried overhead on the “stretcher” before the bomb exploded.

But, whatever the explanation, if you and I can see that “white-shrouded body” almost instantly when we first watched the video, and if the video is a hoax, then I have to assume that whoever perpetrated the hoax must have also seen that same white-shrouded body. I’m left to wonder why he wouldn’t delete that white-shrouded body if it might be proof that his video was a hoax.

I’m not arguing that the video is or is not a hoax. I thought the video looked suspicious because it carried a “message” that seemed so strong and clear that it was almost unprecedented in documentary coverage of a real event. I’ve seen videos in the past of people being shot, maimed, whatever, in real life. But these tragedies always seemed to be as random and devoid of meaning as roadkill. There was no message in these “roadkill” videos–just a bloody smear on the highway.

But the video in this post seemed to carry a “message”. This video isn’t merely a collection of shocking images. It’s also a sequence of ideas and even unspoken words, emotions and inferences that communicate a very significant and complicated “message”. That message seemed suspicious to me precisely because it was so effective. But if that message was contrived, then whoever assembled this video had to be a very sophisticated “master” of video, language and communication in order to have the capacity to produce a hoax of this caliber and impact.

It’s not easy for me to believe that a producer with enough smarts to produce this video as a hoax was also so dumb that he didn’t see and delete the intact white-shrouded body. That mistake might be exactly what happened, but I’m inclined to view the probability of this video being a hoax as one in four. It could be a hoax, but for me and for now, I’d say probably not.

Good catch Jethro!. It appears at 59 seconds what could be a different body wrapped in white (fully intact as well), only because it’s not on the stretcher completely. But someone could have arranged the shrouded body back onto the stretcher correctly when out of view which we see at 1:23.

I am sorry to see Paul Craig Roberts write this article without fully viewing all the footage that was provided with it. It is the stupid rush to judgment which causes others to rush to stupid udgment ie. stupid Palestinians can’t even remove a bomb when it is much more likely due to the video evidence of the intact decedent that the IDF bombed the funeral party.

But hey, the IDF bombs Palestinian wedding parties on the beach, why wouldn’t they bomb a funeral procession? Then they can blame it on the ‘stupid Palestinians who forgot to remove a bomb! Kill more than 2 birds with one stone, eh?

Does this sound familiar? “By Way of Deception, Thou Shalt Do War.”

I would like to know what Paul Craig Roberts AND the IDF have to say about the intact body with white sheet intact, clearly evidencing there was no so-called bomb attached to the body.

    I remember the USS Liberty

My apologies to Paul Craig Roberts. I just noticed he wasn’t the author of this article. I am doing some research on this matter on Israeli media.

The point it makes to me “You do violent things to others and payback is a bitch by a higher authority”

People of low intelligence are fooled, used, abused, and then are disused, for others who don’t dirty their own hands, and will lie, twist the truth, for their own aims and ends, when will they wake up? the answer is NEVER until there dead and find out the truth of everything, and its a one way trip, permanently.

Not one has the right to kill another, otherwise not one of you deserver the life that you have and what you meter out to others. Sad fools kill each other because of lies given them. Slaves to their own stupidity. Pity them and give them a gun to blow their brains out, at least there less fools in the world to put up with and watch the ultimate in insanity. God needs to clean house soon otherwise none of his chosen children will left to save, not that are that many left already.

God stopped communicating with man when his Son Jesus was killed by man, Man has had free reign over this world ever since. God only did after and now monitors this world until he is good and ready for the end generation to begin, which by all accounts we are all ready in. Churches now are but lie and God knows this, as they were seeded form within by evil, but why go over to what is known yet swept under the rug for a convenient generation of fools lead by the nose to there eternal death and their names removed from the books of life. You voted evil into power and this is the result. The evidence is clear and points to the truth, but how can you get fools to understand, you can’t not with this last generation, their dead, but they just don’t know it.

Poor MPK. He has not read the first two chapters of the book of Acts nor understood the POWER inherent in the indwelling Holy Spirit, nor understood why the known world was turned upside down by true Spirit-filled Christians!

    The Flag:
The flags seen in the video being held by the crowds in the funeral procession, and also visible as a logo mark on the top left corner of the video, is the old Syrian flag adopted by certain of the Syrian opposition groups (ie. revolutionary flag of the Salafist groups) against the Syrian Government of President Bashar al-Assad and his supporters. The fact that the logo is embedded in the video explains the initial purpose of the video film: To document the funeral / garner support / propaganda against the Assad regime (their opponents). The funeral was for a Salafist ‘martyr’ killed in the fighting. This is confirmed by the chanting and speech recorded in the video. Fluency in Arabic will benefit you greatly in understanding what’s being said in these type of videos, understanding context and not having to rely of ‘official translations’.

    Correcting Some Errors:
It seems the incident happened in early 2012.
This was one incident of many, involving multiple Islamic groups, proxies and factions that describe the civil war in Syria.
This video does not involve or reference Palestinians or Israelis in any way.

      – Adask posts an article and video, encouraging comment and hopefully educated debate

      – It seemed to me that Adask and other commenters drew false conclusions about the video linking it to Palestinians and IDF forces (unintentionally I’m sure)

      – I add a valid comment, correcting these assumptions by placing the video in it’s proper context

      – I get ‘down rated’ by someone viewing my comment without knowing why and for no logical reason.
Does knowing that it’s a video about the civil war in Syria and not Israel, not fit your narrow paradigm? Or maybe you never understood what was written?

Actually, it’s nothing to get upset about. At least, not on this blog. You made and intelligent comment and offered some new evidence.

Somebody shot from the hip and didn’t like your comment.

        It happens a lot.

        Welcome to my world.

Ignore the down votes and carry on.

Usually, a down vote is merely an attempt at content control by someone lacking the mental or moral wherewithal to do so through honest discourse.

There is no need for down votes anyway. A system that only used up votes would serve the pretend purpose better. But the real reason many sites have voting is to provide an easy tool for payed trolls to manage public opinion.

What a great moment in time for Israel to gain the support of the Muslum people by sharing in voice the tragady of the event which was evil in intent. Instead of making joy of the death of this bomber which intended death to innicent people so let Israel morn in the death of innicent Muslum people. Pehaps GOD will come into the harts and mind’s of those that really search for HIM and want to spread HIS wonderful love. After all it is better to morn the death of your fellow man than to celebrate it for all men die. No man is without sin. Let man seek peace with each other through GOD the Father of us all. No man can come to the Father except through HIS Son and no man can come to the Son except through the Father for the Father and the Son are one and those who seek the Father and the Son must be in them. The Father and the Son are Love and he who say’s he Loves GOD and hates his brother is false for there is no love in them.

One clear injury shows a leg blown off…a ground level explosion not a head level one. This would be consistent with a morter round.
