In a Presidential Election Year Where Nothing Is Too Extreme . . .

03 Apr

We have photos of a potential First Lady in the buff.  We have talk about the size of the candidates’ hands and private parts.  Demonstrations.  Fist-fights. Paid demonstrators. Possible criminal indictment of Hillary.  I’ve never seen anything like it.  We are caught up in a kind of madness. I don’t expect that madness to end this year.  I expect to see more madness and more virulent forms of madness in future elections.

In the spirit of this year’s political hyperbole, here’s a two-minute video about Trump:

Just wait until the Repubs deny Trump, and the Dems deny Bernie. That will incite about 30% of our total adult population to anger/insanity/chaos. There will be no denying then that votes are meaningless. (Just happened to the Bernie-ites in Arizona.) Batten the hatches and make preps now.

When the crowd mood explodes, we will have various forms of chaos of varying degrees. Of course this will be very location dependent.

I agree with all points of your post. Very insightful. What would you include in making preps? I think I can get those hatches a little bit tighter if they are of my mind, my emotions not so much.

First, you’ll need friends. Don’t plan to move into some distant or even remote place and be welcomed or even ignored. The “natives” will know or suspect that you have guns, bullets, gold and maybe even toilet paper. They will regard you as a wealthy foreigner and seek to “liberate” your wealth.

Second, the rest of the prepper formula is fairly obvious. Dried or canned food that doesn’t rely on electricity to be preserved. Water. Guns. Bullets. First Aid kits. How-to books (the internet may not work). Generator. Solar panels. Batteries, Gold and silver, etc.

Third, attitude adjustment. If you have successfully prepared for a calamity and the calamity actually occurs, some of your neighbors will realize you have some “stuff” and seek to liberate that “stuff”. What are you prepared to do to protect your “stuff”? This is a tough question, but it needs to be answered before your “stuff” is taken and you and your family are left to starve.

Fourth, get right with the Good LORD. In the event of some sort of calamity, your survival will have more to do with Him than with how many cases of beans you’ve stored in the garage.

Fifth, if you plan to stay where you are and you have enough private space of your own, you might even build one of those aquaponic food growing systems systems in your back yard. Properly set up and operated, those systems will grow both fish and vegetables in sufficient quantity to feed you indefinitely (provided that you have a supply or access to, fish food).
